Is the Rxight® test covered by insurance?

In some cases pharmacogenetic testing is a covered benefit. Check with your insurance company or for help in determining your benefits call our customer support team at 888-888-1932. You may also use your FSA or HSA account for payment.

Will I ever have to get retested?

No.

How will I receive my results?

Your Rxight® test results will be reviewed and provided to you by your pharmacist at the time of your Personalized Medication Review (PMR)®.

YOU SHOULD NOT MAKE MEDICATION DECISIONS WITHOUT CONSULTING YOUR PRESCRIBER.

How much does the Rxight® test cost?

Check with your local pharmacy. The MSRP price includes the lab test, as well as a PMR® from a pharmacist trained in pharmacogenetics.

How long will it take to receive my results?

Results are released to your pharmacist 5-7 business days after MD Labs receives your specimen. You will be notified via email when your Rxight® report is released, directing you to schedule your Personalized Medication Review® with a Rxight® certified pharmacist.

How are my results interpreted?

Pharmacogenetic test results are complex and should not be interpreted without a trained pharmacist or a healthcare provider.

You will be asked to schedule a PMR® with your designated pharmacist as soon as possible, once results are available. Pharmacists play a crucial role in the Rxight® test administration, results interpretation and medication change recommendations. Pharmacists are trained to understand drug-drug and drug-gene interactions and based on the PMR®, the pharmacist may make prescribing recommendations to your provider. All decision-making authority remains with the prescribing provider in consultation with you.

Are my test results kept confidential?

Yes. We take our customers privacy very seriously. Your genetic and medical information are protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, otherwise known as HIPAA and discrimination against any person based on their genetic information is illegal under the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. Your results are confidential and only shared with pharmacists and healthcare providers that you authorize. MD Labs (the creators of the Rxight® test) is a HIPAA compliant independent laboratory and will not share patient data with federal agencies, insurance carriers or other entities without being directed by you or courts.

The Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act of 2008 also provides you protections. Click here to learn more.
